This weekend, during its thrilling sixth round, the Ferrari Challenge delivered a heart-pounding show under the pleasant sun of Montmeló, just twenty kilometers from Barcelona. The stars of the show – of course – were once again the beloved Ferrari 296 Challenge cars. Our Team Ineco – Reparto Corse RAM drivers took on the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, a 4.657 km track renowned for its tight and fast corners.
The Catalan summer smiled on the Ineco talents, just as it did during the second round of the season in Misano: the weekend brought home an impressive three first-place finishes – two in the Pirelli Trophy with Felix Hirsiger, and one in the Coppa Shell with Zois Skrimpias.
Race 1
The unstoppable Felix Hirsiger kicked things off with a return to victory in Race 1, reclaiming the top spot in the overall standings of the Pirelli Trophy. The exciting head-to-head battle for the title with fellow Swiss driver Jasin Ferati is well and truly alive. Hirsiger took the lead in the opening stages of the race and, after a brief pause under the Safety Car, skillfully maintained his advantage, recording his best lap in 1’44”137.
In the Coppa Shell, Italian driver Manuela Gostner gave Scotland’s Ryndziewicz a real challenge, but despite several attempts to overtake, she wasn’t able to claim the lead. She secured an excellent second-place finish, further strengthening her lead in the overall Coppa Shell standings.
Race 2
Much to the delight of the entire Ineco Team, Felix Hirsiger repeated his success, crossing the finish line in first place once again in Race 2. No overtaking attempts were able to shake the Swiss driver’s position, further extending his lead in the overall standings, now 11 points ahead of second place.
Here’s what Hirsiger had to say after achieving a sensational and unforgettable double win in the Pirelli Trophy:
“I’m really happy with my weekend – two wins, strong performances, and the championship lead. Thanks to everyone, and I can’t wait to be back on track at Spa.”
Sunday also brought a major victory in the Coppa Shell, with Zois Skrimpias flying across the finish line in first place in Race 2. It was the Greek driver’s second win of the season, the result of a thrilling head-to-head battle with Ryndziewicz that captivated fans for the entire race. Everything came down to the final lap, with the Scotsman making a pass, only for Skrimpias to immediately counter with an incredible overtake that secured the win.
This sunny Catalan weekend brought immense satisfaction for the Ineco – Reparto Corse RAM Team: three golds and a crucial silver – results that give us great confidence for the remainder of the Ferrari Challenge, especially now that only two rounds remain before the season’s end.
The next exciting round – the penultimate of the season – will take place at the Spa-Francorchamps circuit in Belgium, over the weekend of September 20–21, 2025. In the meantime, we wish you a peaceful and relaxing summer, and we look forward to sharing more races with you that – we’re sure – will be just as thrilling.
